Hello, I'm Miss Michelle!
I am a teacher, performer, but most importantly a Mom!
I have always loved music. I began taking vocal and dance lessons at a young age. My parents put me into theatre to help build my confidence, as I was also painfully shy. It fully transformed who I was and gave me the skills to conquer my fears and become more outgoing. That's when I knew how powerful the performing arts can be and what it is able to do for the youth of this world.
I was accepted into the prestigious Sheridan Institute's Music Theatre Performance Program, where I would graduate with honours.
After graduating, I began performing professionally on stages across the country. Getting to play roles I was honoured to portray.
From a young age, I was inspired by Disney Princess movies and wanted to learn to sing just like Ariel. And my dream came true when I got to be "friends" with many princesses over the years! Being able to deliver magic to children through these beloved characters was the highlight of my career. You can still catch me occasionally sprinkling some pixie dust with Canada's top princess company "Fantasy Fables".
I have always loved working with children. I was a camp counsellor as a teenager when I realized I could communicate well with young kids. I was even given the nickname "Mary Poppins"! I knew that I would someday work with children as a career.
I began teaching vocal lessons, and leading workshops in my community of Burlington, Ontario.
I have had the pleasure of working with many theatre schools and music studios as a guest instructor and in leading workshops. I was also the head of primary music, primary drama and musical theatre at several private elementary and Montessori schools.
I began a mobile music program, visiting daycares and preschools in the GTA and delivering music education. I love being able to create my own programming, and spread the joy of music!
As an educator, I specialize in early childhood music and musical theatre. Having spent over a decade as a professional performer, I love being able to share my passion and knowledge with my students.
